Lesson Information

Our Public Stand Up Paddleboarding lessons are taught at the public launch area at 81st street and other public water access points on the beautiful back bays around Stone Harbor, NJ. Our lessons cover the fundamentals of stand up paddleboarding. You will be taught about the equipment (board, paddle, personal flotation device, leash), what to look for in a board and paddle when purchasing your own equipment, paddling and balance technique, and water safety. Our Instructors are CPR and First Aid Certified, and certified to teach paddleboarding from the World Paddle Association (WPA). Our lessons are taught on calm, flat water and we WILL be falling in and getting wet.

Lesson Requirements


You must know how to swim to take a lesson and your weight cannot exceed 250 pounds (equipment restrictions)

You WILL be getting WET! Falling off of the board is a requirement for us to be able to teach you how to get back on the board. Please dress accordingly and bring a towel with you! We will also be in the direct sun for an hour, so sunscreen and other sun protection is also highly recommended.

Lessons are one hour long.

We can accommodate up to six paddlers during one lesson.

Public SUP lesson are held at 81st in Stone Harbor. Lessons run one hour, available at 9, 11, 1 and 3. Use our reservation widget to book your lesson. We can't accepted lesson reservations at the launch area, they must be booked online.
